Heaping towers of deep-fried spicy squid, zesty guacamole and tender carnitas are all re-entering our lives as Parkdale's bustling taqueria reopens its doors for takeout this Thursday.
An institution for Mexican food in the city, Grand Electric is once again ready to dole out their Baja fish tacos and spicy chicken quesadillas just in time for summer. Although sipping spicy margaritas on their hidden back patio will have to wait a few more weeks -- a styrofoam container brimming with tortillas, a subdued spot in the park and a couple of cervezas sounds pretty fantastic to me.
Grand Electric announced via Instagram that they will be open for takeout come Thursday, June 11 at 3 p.m. and have once again ensured bumping music, takeout tacos and margaritas and an all-around lively time. They are also hinting at the potential opening of the patio once restaurants are given the go-ahead.
There may not be a Taco Fest this year but let's consider Grand Electric reopening a small win in what's shaping up to be a very unforgettable year (to say the least).
