Grab fresh Montreal-style bagels Saturday, January 15 inside Good Behaviour, courtesy of St. Clarens Bagels. Based in Bloordale Village, the popular home bakery run by employment and human rights lawyer Robert Tarantino of Tarantino Law, started as a weekend passion project early on in 2020 and since, has quickly grown into an official bagel bakery that operates weekly.
"Our bagels are made with love," says Tarantino. "They're small batch, hand rolled, and made to bring some joy to folks during these hard times. We love the folks and subs at Good Behaviour and this pop-up is an opportunity to have some fun, meet new people, and spread the word about our bagel shop."
Normally only accepting a limited number of purchases through pre-orders via DM on Sunday, for pick-up the following Saturday, their pop-up at Good Behaviour starts at 1:30 p.m. and will run until they're sold out.
Expect a selection of their regular bagel options that includes sesame, salted poppy, everything and rosemary sea salt. To compliment their bagels, find a variety of cream cheese blends, pickled red onions, their house made everything bagel seasoning and even toques if they deliver in time.
"Going forward, Good Behaviour has a pantry where they sell local items and we are looking at selling our everything bagel seasoning at the pantry beyond the pop-up. We're always experimenting at the shop with new bagels, accompaniments and merchandise," says Tarantino.
While you're at Good Behaviour for bagels on Saturday, definitely be sure to take note of their Treat Yourself Corner that features a selection of frozen and shelf-stable products from small local businesses. Discover your new favourite brand or pick up pantry staples from your existing favourites that include No. 7 Mexican Hot Sauce, Rosen’s, Chachalate, K.Market, Sanagan's Meat Locker, Gertie's, and XOXO Sauce.
St. Claren's Bagels will be selling their products from 1:30 p.m. until they're sold out, Saturday January 15 inside Good Behaviour at 342 Westmoreland Avenue.
