General Assembly Pizza launches subscription-box service

In an effort to reach an even wider customer base, General Assembly has developed what it's calling "the world's first pizza subscription box." The service -- launched on September 15 and framed as "a new way to pizza" -- offers stacks of four, six, eight or ten frozen, 100% naturally leavened pizzas delivered straight to your door. While subscriptions are currently only available to customers living in Toronto, General Assembly has plans to expand to more of Ontario in 2021. (Their website has already set up a form to add your postal code and email to be contacted when the service area expands.)

The boxes start at $39 or roughly $9 per pizza with a slight discount applied to the more pizzas you order. There's a wide variety of General Assembly's signature pizzas -- featuring toppings like hot salami, honey, grilled eggplant and sweet peppers, with various vegetarian options and one vegan choice -- all of which are ready to eat in roughly five minutes. There will also be subscriber-only pizza exclusives joining the menu in the coming weeks.

The new venture expanded from General Assembly’s popular frozen pizza line that became available for purchase across the GTA, Niagara-on-the-Lake and Prince Edward County, following a very high demand during their DoorDash popup this past spring.

General Assembly continues to offer dine-in, takeout and delivery from its storefront at 331 Adelaide St. W.
