One of Toronto’s most popular doughnut shops, Gloryhole Doughnuts, is bringing back the Fried Chicken Doughnut Sandwich for one day only. In what has become an annual tradition for the Parkdale institution, Gloryhole Doughnuts teams up with one fried chicken spot each year to create a fried chicken sandwich for one day in January.
This year, they will be collaborating with The Heartbreak Chef, a black-owned local business that is quickly becoming one of the best places for fried chicken in Toronto. It’s not hard to see why. Jerome Robinson, owner of The Heartbreak Chef, has been churning out massive fried chicken sandwiches ever since moving into his first brick-and-mortar location in Parkdale (which has now relocated to Dundas West).
The Fried Chicken Doughnut Sandwich will consist of a deep-fried chicken thigh served between a soft and fluffy vanilla glazed doughnut. Hot sauce and pickles to be served on the side.
The Fried Chicken Doughnut Sandwich will be $11. They’re taking pre-orders now until Thursday, January 21, at 12 p.m. After that, they’re done. The pickup time will be on Saturday, January 23, between 12 to 3 p.m. Be sure to check out their website to order but sandwiches will be available at both their Parkdale and Gerrard locations.
