It's the most wonderful time of the year—several coffeehouse chains have released their much anticipated 2022 holiday menu items.
Festive cups, drinks and treats are available for us all to get our hands and our Instagram cameras on from Tim Hortons, McDonald's, Starbucks, and Second Cup. Here is a roundup of spicy, toasty, minty, chocolatey goods available from each of the aforementioned chains this holiday season.
Tim Hortons
Tim Hortons's holiday menu items are available as of Wednesday, Nov. 16. The branding is themed "There's Snowplace Like Tims", with images of snow globes, snowmen, stockings, and wreaths across its hot beverage cups, baked good boxes, and takeaway bags.
This year's Tims holiday beverages menu includes the Gingerbread Oat Latte, Candy Cane Hot Chocolate, Candy Cane White Hot Chocolate, Candy Cane Iced Capp, Roasted Hazelnut Cold Brew, and Mocha Latte.
The Tims holiday baked goods lineup includes the Gingerbread Chocolate Dream Donut and Chocolate Fudge Dream Donut, Chocolate Hazelnut Muffin with chocolate hazelnut filling, and Filled Sugar Cookie with cream cheese icing inside.
McDonald's
McDonald's Canada announced its festive menu on Tuesday, Nov. 1, and the menu will be available until Tuesday, Dec. 27. The fast food chain noted that its holiday cup comes in three iconic colours with bright red, yellow, blue, and green holiday lights for seasonal cheer.
The McDonald's festive menu features the Peppermint Mocha, Peppermint Hot Chocolate, RMHC®(Ronald McDonald House Charities) Ginger Cookie where a portion of proceeds benefit RMHC, and Crème Brûlée Li’L Donut topped with a vanilla flavoured cookie crunch.
Starbucks
Let's face it: the Starbucks holiday cup release is the most exciting one on this list! This year's iconic holiday cups are full of red, green, and white patterns with Christmas trees, snowflakes, and holiday lights.
Holiday beverages officially returned to the Starbucks menu on Thursday, Nov. 3, including the Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, Chestnut Praline Latte, Toasted White Chocolate Mocha, Irish Cream Cold Brew and, returning for its second holiday season, the nondairy Iced Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte.
New this year for bakery items is the Chocolate Pistachio Swirl, which joins the returning Reindeer Cake Pop, Sugar Plum Cheese Danish, Cranberry Bliss Bar, and Snowman Cookie.
Second Cup
Second Cup's holiday menu launched on Tuesday, Nov. 1. Its holiday cups come in three colours: blue, green, and red, with either a white bow or a snowflake pattern.
While bakery items vary from branch to branch according to the Second Cup website, the festive beverage lineup features six cozy drinks for 2022. This year's holiday drinks include Santa's Cookie Frappé, the Eggnog Latte, the Cinnamon Toast Latte, the Peppermint Moccaccino, and the Candycane White Hot Chocolate.
