Fine-dining, plant-based restaurant, Avelo, has decided to transform their operation in lieu of COVID-19 and launch a vegan pizza joint for curbside pickup and delivery.
Pizzeria Du will run out of their old Away Kitchen space at 536 Queen West. You can pre-order for pickup via email or by phone, from Wednesday through Sunday, available 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The pizza is also available on Uber Eats.
The initiative is dedicated to the memory of chef Dualco, who passed right before the restaurant opened Vitalia, a new plant-based Italian restaurant. The restaurant was conceived all from Dualco's recipes, including his signature pizza crust.
The pizza joint offers classics like margherita pizza, as well as more inventive pies, like Dualco's Romana pizza; comprised of cauliflower cream sauce, figs, grilled red onions, Kalamata olives, capers, queso fresco cheese (soy), fried rosemary and olive oil.
