Giovane Caffé is the new grab-and-go modern Italian coffee shop inspired spot, located inside Shangri-La Toronto.
Perfect for those busy mornings and unbearably short lunch breaks, you can find them on the lobby level of the hotel. Giovane Caffè's original location is based in Vancouver's Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel, so this marks the second location of the coffee bar for the restaurant group Kitchen Table, who run on the belief that the best memories are made at the kitchen table, not in the dining room.
“This is a very exciting time for our group of restaurants and especially the evolution of Giovane Caffè,” says Kitchen Table Executive Chef Valerio Pescetelli. “We’re really looking forward to introducing Torontonians to our concept and welcoming them to our unique space for specialty coffees and Italian specialties.”
Utilizing the Victoria Arduino Eagle One espresso machine, find your classic espresso-based beverages, alongside a list of other Italian-inspired specialty drinks, with soy, oat and almond milk alternatives. This includes the Cioccolata Calda, a pistachio hot chocolate made with real pistachios that are finely ground and the Mandorlatte, which is crafted with espresso, milk and orzata––a sweet almond syrup.
Paired with these are a handful of menu options from small desserts to full meals. Whether you're in search of a quick breakfast snack, a hearty sandwich for lunch or a sweet treat for later, they've got you covered.
A daily selection of house-made pastries like croissants, biscotti and amaretti cookies are available at the counter. Plus, healthy grab-and-go breakfasts options consist of a simple yogurt sprinkled with granola and topped with juicy amarena cherries, as well as the classic overnight oats, made with protein nut butter, berries and chia jam. For lunch, find four panini options stuffed with quality ingredients, including fior di latte and pistachio pesto. Two paninis are even vegan-friendly.
Giovane Caffè is one of many ventures by the award winning Kitchen Table hospitality group based on the West coast. Other restaurants operated by them in the greater Vancouver area include Pourhouse, Pizzeria Farnia, Ask for Luigi and Di Beppe.
Giovane Caffè is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily inside the Shangri-La Toronto, located at 188 University Avenue.
