Ghost kitchens are taking over Toronto and the newest virtual restaurant hitting the city is Man vs Fries, thanks to NBRHD Kitchens Powered by Reef.
This virtual restaurant began as a pop-up in San Francisco in 2018 and hasn't stopped growing since. With multiple shops currently open in the United States and the goal of opening 75 new locations across North America, there's so much hype surrounding this business that it's got to be worth a try.
Man vs Fries is known for its gigantic portions of comfort food. Find loaded (build-your-own) fries, burritos and nachos on the menu, as well as fried desserts like 'OMG Cookies', which are four double stuffed Oreos that are battered and fried to perfection.
Restaurant owner William Bonhorst sets out to elevate fries into being the ultimate comfort food and main menu feature instead of the typical side option they tend to be offered as. As a result, you can find fries in everything on the menu, even stuffed in their burritos.
Must-try items include the popular 'Asada Fries'––choose between straight-cut or curly fries, carne or pollo asada and the most important part: 'NorCal' or 'SoCal' style toppings.
NorCal style comes with cheese, sour cream, guacamole and their secret sauce, while SoCal comes with all the NorCal toppings, plus the addition of cilantro, green onions and grilled jalapeño.
Man vs Fries will appear on local delivery apps in Toronto on Feb. 23 and will be takeout only. They'll be open daily until they sell out for the day.
