Famed 'heartbreaker' celebrates restaurant's one year anniversary with charity initiative

Chef Jerome Robinson or more commonly dubbed 'The Heartbreak Chef' celebrates the one-year anniversary of his popular fried chicken and comfort fare restaurant.

With The Heartbreak Chef's anniversary fast approaching, chef Robinson want to make it a special one. The restaurant will be running food specials all day, with all proceeds going to the Parkdale Community Food Bank. Chef Robinson wanted to do something beneficial for the community in honour of his restaurant's milestone, especially considering that his restaurant opened amidst one of the most challenging times for the hospitality industry.

On Saturday, March 20, The Heartbreak Chef will be selling its famous Big Ass Chicken Sandwiches and Dutty Chicken Sandwiches for only $5. It's a one-day-only event starting at noon until they sell out. If you're looking for a sweet fix, they'll be serving massive ice cream sandwiches.

Also on the menu will be their famous Fried Chicken Doughnut Sandwich (an earlier collaboration with Glory Hole Doughnuts) for that one day only. They sold out earlier this year and if you missed out the first time, this is your chance to get your hands on the mouthwatering creation.

Patrons are encouraged to bring any non-perishable or canned good items for donations. This event will also only be available for takeout as they will not be on any third-party delivery apps that day. The Heartbreak Chef is located at 823 Dundas St.
