The popular bakery, founded in 2017 by the then MasterChef Canada Season 2 participant Christopher Siu, now has a new location in Richmond Hill.
Many things have changed for Christopher Siu since he participated in MasterChef Canada in 2017. This year, he became Canada's latest MasterChef after returning for Season 7's "Back to Win" series and he just opened a third location of his Daan Go Cake Lab––his beloved bakery, just north of Toronto.
The new bakery opened its doors on Aug. 14 and offers the same great variety of Asian fusion macarons, cakes and tarts that are almost too cute to eat. Similar to the other locations, the interior isn’t designed for eating in and all production takes place in the back of the bakery.
Some of the most famous items available at Richmond Hill are the character macarons and cakes, like the Peach Garden and the Gold Thorn made of Durian puree, durian mousse, vanilla chiffon and cheese cream.
This past summer, chef Siu released a line of ice cream that is also available at the new location, which means that now you can enjoy his award-winning milk tea ice cream, form-filled with chewy boba bits. Other pint flavours available are Chocolate Hazelnut with Truffle, Durian, Mango Passion Fruit Sago (Vegan), Coconut Taro Sago (Vegan) and Kaya Coconut (Dairy-Free).
Daan Go Cake Lab is located at 550 Highway 7 (Times Square) in Richmond Hill near Highway ON-404. It is open Monday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
