Crumbs Gourmet Patties is officially here to stay. After holding various temporary pop-ups across the city when their first location on Gould Street shuttered in 2019, the popular patty spot has finally relocated to a permanent flagship location inside Kensington Market. Their opening day is today, Wednesday, February 16.
Crumbs has stood out amongst their competition for their elaborate take on traditional Jamaican patties, often stuffing them with ingredients like cheese and pepperoni.
"With our signature-style, croissant-like pastry and flavourful, mouth-watering fillings, CRUMBS is about thinking outside the box," says owner Pierre St. Rose. "Our goal is to continually push the narrative and change the perception of the Jamaican patty by introducing new concepts, designs and fillings with a purpose. We strive to provide our customers with exceptional service and an authentic, culinary experience. CRUMBS GOURMET is not just a patty, it's a brand. We only sell patties -- we believe in doing one thing, and doing that one thing extremely well!"
St. Rose says that though opening in Kensington Market wasn't always the plan, their pop-ups in the area in spaces like Rasta Pasta and 4Life Natural Foods helped them gain attention from local landlords and when the opportunity arose to take over a unit that would house their concept perfectly, they couldn't say no. Now that they've taken over their ideal space, you can look forward to some of your favourite items like their beef and cheese stuffed patty known as the Remixed and their Crumbs Pizza Pouch coming back, with new menu additions set to launch in the coming months.
"Now that we have a set home/location, we can finally get back to having fun, paving our own path in the patty industry, building the business outwards and launching some cool concepts that have been in development since 2018," says St. Rose.
Though they'll be holding their official grand opening and four year anniversary celebration a few months from now on June 1, you won't have to wait any longer to satisfy those patty cravings.
Find Crumbs Gourmet Patties at their new flagship location in Kensington Market at 160 Baldwin Street - Unit 7B Wednesday through Sunday. They're open from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
