Countylicious returns to Prince Edward County this spring

If brilliant, farm-to-table dining is essential to your ideal spring escape, you’ll want to plan a jaunt to Prince Edward County as soon as you can. Returning this month, Countylicious means three weeks of prix-fixe dining at some of the area’s most celebrated spots.

Taking place between April 12 and May 1, Countylicious highlights Prince Edward County’s varied culinary landscape and local producers making farm-to-table fare. Following a successful return this past fall, Countylicious will include 16 restaurants offering lunch and dinner deals (with two pricing tiers), to hungry diners.

Led by Prince Edward County’s marketing and management organization, Visit The County, the program is sure to attract locals and visitors eager to sample tried-and-true favourites or something new. “Our return this past fall showed a real appetite for traveling to The County for dining, with nearly a third of diners staying in paid accommodations,” said Eleanor R. Cook, executive director of Visit The County, in a press release. “With 16 restaurants participating this spring, Countylicious is the perfect opportunity to enjoy food from some of The County’s best chefs while exploring The County.”

Among participating restaurants, The Waring House, Waupoos Estates Restaurant and Parsons Brewing Company will all have two- and three-course lunch specials available for $20 or $30. Dishes range from a County Charcuterie Platter at The Waring House to Parsons’ Cochinita Pibil Torta and Alfajor, for dessert.

For dinner, 13 restaurants wow with menus peppered with the area’s finest seasonal ingredients. Visit The Royal Hotel and mull over options like Sorrel Soup or Mushroom Salad, Paccheri with Calamari or Steak Frites, and Maple Pecan Pie or Crema al Pomelo. At Onesta, $45 guarantees a meal centred around fresh pasta in flavourful house-made sauce.
