Collective Arts, widely popular for featuring limited-edition artwork on their craft beer cans and labels, is opening a brewhouse in Toronto.
The Hamilton-based craft brewery will be taking over The Six Brewhouse on Dundas West, who quietly closed their doors last month.
"Collective [Arts] approached us as they have been to our space before and saw potential for them to expand their brand into Toronto. It was a quick decision but with everything going on and the uncertainty in the restaurant/pub industry, it made sense for us," says a spokesperson for the Toronto-bred microbrewery.
The new space will include a 10 barrel brewhouse, a taproom and a patio for beer-enthusiasts to sit back and enjoy a cold one. In keeping with the company's "artist-first mission," the Toronto location will include a retail store that will double as an art gallery, to showcase the talents of emerging artists and musicians they've worked with over the past six years, as well as those up and coming.
"We've always looked to Toronto as another home for us. We're inspired by the vibrant culture and arts community that the city brings; we believe that this location is an ideal spot for us to be," says Collective Arts co-founder Bob Russell.
You can also expect to see experimental brews and collaborations with local and international brewers at the new post.
"Innovation in our beer making is something we've always taken pride in, and this facility will allow Ryan Morrow and his team to truly experiment with small batch brews," says co-founder Matt Johnston.
The grassroots craft brewery is currently looking for a general manager, head brewer and direct-to-home drivers to join their Toronto team.
The indoor taproom is set to open late August or early September at 777 Dundas Street West, as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
