This new fine dining restaurant offers modern Eastern European cuisine

Centuries-old tradition meets modern flare at Chandelier, Toronto's new fine dining spot. Located in Midtown, the newly-opened eatery offers hearty, generational dishes from countries across Eastern Europe.

Two sisters hailing from Armenia are at the helm of Chandelier, combine modern culinary techniques with ancient, tried-and-true recipes to create a fine dining experience that takes inspiration from countries like Armenia, Turkey and more Mediterranean locales, with meat-based and vegetarian dishes populating a menu that is sure to satisfy any kind of diner.

Opt for the $16 Express Parcel appetizer, which is a dish of spare ribs with honey-garlic sauce in flatbread parcel. Or, those sharing appetizers can order the $27 dip trio, which offers a selection of three of Chandelier's homemade seasonal dips, with options like eggplant, lentil and spinach dips available. Entrees include a coffee-infused duck breast, smoking liver and Brassica, which is a roasted cauliflower finished with herbs, cheese and house-made tahini sauce. A selection of seasonal dishes, from soups to salads, are also available.

For dessert, guests can enjoy a house-made dish called a flower pot, which is made up of a house-tempered, semi-sweet chocolate flower pot stuffed with light mascarpone cream, cherries soaked with brandy and chocolate cake. Other options include a honey baklava and a harvest cake, baked with vegetables, fruits, nuts, clove spices and cream.

The drink menu is equally as unique, offering a selection of fresh, organic teas and coffees as well as a curated wine list and a cocktail program that includes a Sea Buckthorn Daiquiri, crafted with two ounces of white rum, simple syrup, lime juice, rosemary and sea buckthorn. Other options include the 50 Shades of Oolong, concocted with Oolong gin, simple syrup, grapefruit juice and lemon juice. Traditional options like mules and espresso martinis are also on offer.

As the name suggests, the dining experience is topped off by the atmosphere, which offers guests the ambiance of modern dining under several intricate chandeliers and delicate cascade lighting, surrounded by uniquely-decorated walls and striking, black banquette seating.

Chandelier opened earlier this fall and is located at 1993 Yonge Street at the Yonge and Davisville intersection.
