Patrons will get a chance to wow their palates and experience a few of the finer things in life at a dinner and reception hosted by Frescobaldi — one of Italy's most celebrated wine dynasties dating back 700 years and spanning over 30 generations.
The reception will take place at 6:30 p.m., followed by the dinner at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at one of Toronto's premier family-run Italian restaurants, Carisma. Tickets are available here.
All attendees will have the opportunity to meet 30th-generation family member Stefano Benini and have first access to large-format and library vintages from the Frescobaldi portfolio.
The event will feature eight highly-rated wines from across Tuscany — one of Italy's most prolific wine-producing regions — and will be paired with authentic regional dishes like Pappardelle al Ragu di Cinghiale (Tuscan wild boar stew,) Carpaccio di Manzo (beef carpaccio,) Gnocchi in a four cheese sauce and many more.
Patrons will also have first access to exclusive allocations of rare library wines, large formats and new releases. In total, more than 40 wines — spanning 2003 through 2018 — will be available for purchase online during the event.
The wines that will be available at the reception and dinner are as follows:
- Leonia Pomino Sparkling Rosé 2017
- Nipozzano Montesodi Chianti Rufina Riserva 2018
- Nipozzano Montesodi Chianti Rufina Riserva 2008
- Nipozzano Mormoreto 2007
- Castiglioni Giramonte 2016
- CastelGiocondo Ripe al Convento Brunello di Montalcino 2015
- Pomino Vin Santo 2014
With such a magnanimous offering of wines that embody the Tuscan name and heritage, it was only right to host the dinner at one of Toronto's best Italian restaurants with a long-standing loyal clientele.
Carisma describes itself in one word — "accoglienza," which Italians refer to as the epitome of hospitality. With such a strong foundation built on values, trust and tradition, Carisma seems to be the perfect setting for a night of celebrating Tuscan history.
Frescobaldi: 700 Years of Excellence in Tuscany will take place from 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Carisma located at 15 Toronto St. Tickets are available to be purchased here.
