Kome Yogurt is a proudly Canadian-made business, who's mission is to share their Asian heritage and culture through innovative yogurt beverages. They are the first ever food truck that specializes in yogurt drinks. They plan to pop up across the GTA this summer to share their innovation with the rest of the city, what they call, the snack for the modern age.
As Asian Canadians, they grew up finding generic yogurt drinks at their local supermarkets. What they realized was that it was very difficult to find Asian representation within their communities, especially when it came to yogurt. Andy Shi, the owner behind Kome Yogurt, saw this as an opportunity to redefine yogurt beverages, and introduce Asian flavours through their nostalgic favourites. This would be a blend of their own East Asian heritage with their Western upbringing.
At Kome, you can find unique ingredients, from purple rice to red dragonfruit puree. They offer drinks like the "Peachy Teagurt", a peach-flavoured tea with yogurt and peach chunks. Or, you can indulge in their "Lychee Lover" drink, which is made with lychee yogurt and paired with lychee jelly.
The yogurt is freshly fermented in-house for at least 24 hours, meaning its packed with probiotics, giving you another incentive to get out and try it. Every cup of yogurt is hand crafted using only natural, and non-GMO ingredients as well. Additionally, they pride themselves for using 100 per cent Canadian milk and refuse to use artificial sweeteners or colourings.
For upcoming long weekend, Kome Yogurt will be operating at 11 Finch Avenue West near Yonge Street. As a mobile vending unit, their location does vary from weekend to weekend. Follow their Instagram to get upcoming updates on our location and operation hours.
