In terms of their classically-made gelatos, they have gelato nuts, which are locally roasted and grounded in a rock grinder to intensify the nutty flavour. Boho in the business name is a shortened version of the term 'Bohemian', which means "unconventional in an artistic way." Additionally, within their store, they create unconventional gelato flavours using an inventive variety of ingredients and colours.
The owner was introduced to the love and passion behind gelato through an Italian friend who has had 50 years of experience in the gelato industry. This introduction began when they attended one of the largest gelato fairs in Italy. Shortly after, the owner began training in Italy for several months and decided to start a gelato business. The business was successful for six years until the owner and family immigrated to Canada. But the owner's love for gelato did not fade, and the gelato business was once again rebooted, but this time, in the heart of Kensington Market.
In the following weeks, Boho Gelato intends on introducing gelato cakes for birthdays and celebrations. Otherwise, their ultimate plan includes enhancing customer experiences by generating strong connections with those who enter the store and taste their delicious gelato!
