Big Rig is a go-to spot in the nation's capital for quality casual food and award-winning craft beer. Just take a look at their mouthwatering pulled chicken nachos.
With four Ottawa locations, the microbrewery is now expanding to Toronto -- the unofficial capital city of Canada. The Big Rig pays homage to Ottawa Senators player, defenseman Chris Phillips, which may not appeal to the die-hard Leafs fans in the city, but their beers may be able to win over their hearts nonetheless.
Big Rig intends to open two locations in Toronto, taking over two of the old 3 Brewers locations that closed down in Mississauga and Richmond Hill. This is the chain's first expansion outside of Ottawa.
Big Rig is expected to arrive in mid-May and will be at Heartland Town Centre in Mississauga and York Boulevard in Richmond Hill. Renovations are underway, so get excited and in the meantime check out their Instagram for mouthwatering photos of their food and close-ups of their craft beer.
This spot will serve as the perfect place for a couple of after-work beers or to watch a hockey game with friends. Just make sure you're cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
