Bellwoods Brewery announced yesterday that they are currently undergoing renovation planning to expand their bustling Ossington Ave location in time for the fall of 2021.
Indeed a sight to be seen, on any given day that allows for patio dining and sees temperatures just barely acceptable for sitting outside, you will find Torontonians flocking to Bellwoods Brewery's magical front patio. With lines consistently wrapping around the white picket fence exterior, a seat on Ossington Ave's picnic bench-adorned patio is a sought-after one.
For anyone who has attempted to nab a seat at the flagship location, the news of the expansion is an elated one.
Bellwoods shared the news, in honour of celebrating their ninth anniversary, that they will be taking over the corner unit at Ossington and Argyle, which was previously occupied by curated home goods store VdeV. The team is currently occupied with renovation planning and intends to start "swinging hammers" come July.
Conveniently located right beside the existing brewpub, the team will use the new space to expand their restaurant and kitchen, with hopes of seeing the doors open sometime this fall (depending on COVID restrictions).
Felt by many small businesses, Bellwoods cites the hardships felt over the course of this past year and how they too have struggled to adapt their operations.
"Our most recent lap around the sun is tough to sum up in an instagram blurb, but obviously it’s been a challenging one, with lots of new and uncertain variables to acclimatize to," Bellwoods Brewery expressed in the Instagram post.
The brewery has been busy this past year and has emphasized the e-commerce side of sales and a further expansion into retail, with Bellwoods being more widely available in LCBO's across the province.
Bellwoods also made an effort to expand their offerings available at the Ossington location. With uncertain allowances on dining-in and sporadic announcements of closures, the brewpub repurposed their space as a marketplace where patrons could shop for fresh produce, make-at-home meals, wine, pantry items and coffee.
The new expansion of Bellwoods Brewery will be located at 120 Ossington Ave, which sits beside the existing location at 124 Ossington Ave.
