A new slew of notable Toronto restaurants are opening up in Midtown.
Oretta, Calii Love and Hale Coffee Company are all set to open within Art Shoppe Condominiums, located near Yonge and Davisville at 2131 Yonge Street.
Within the same building are the recently opened Staples, West Elm and beloved Farm Boy. This set of popular businesses, all within Art Shoppe Condominiums joins the already high profile area of Midtown, where you can find an abundance of other well-known Toronto restaurants like Juicy Dumpling, Little Sister Indonesian Food Bar, Punto Gelato, Pai Uptown, Tabule Middle Eastern Cuisine and Hokkaido Ramen Santouka––many of which have also recently joined the area within the last year.
This will be Oretta's second location, their first being known on King West with their chic interior and authentic, yet modern take on Italian cuisine. They're guaranteed to be given a patio at this new location as well––while the restaurant is slated to open in the Fall of this year, Midtowners can look forward to a chic patio for summers to come.
Calii Love currently boasts three locations in the city and promotes themselves as a wellness hub, popular for their variety of bowls which include poké bowls, salad bowls and, of course, smoothie bowls in a California sunshine-inspired environment. The shop is hoping to open sometime this summer.
Hale Coffee Company is an independently owned and operated roastery that started in the Junction Triangle and now brews their specialty coffee for shops across the GTA. The new outpost is expected to be opening up in April.
Sales for this condominium began in 2015 and now as it reaches its completion, units are 100 per cent sold. Art Shoppe is built upon the city's historical Art Shoppe Furniture store, preserving its location. The building flaunts sleek architecture by Architects Alliance and is built by Capitol Developments and Freed Developments, boasting a mixed-use environment that includes over 600 suites. They promote their trendy new space as providing modern living, "catering to your every need, every desire, every day," and with all these new businesses moving into the area, it's difficult to disagree.
One potential reason as to why development in this area is moving so quickly can be attributed to the incoming Eglinton Crosstown LRT, which is expected to transform this dynamic neighbourhood into a major transportation hub, increasing its accessibility to commuters.
The influx of new businesses and restaurants in particular are quickly creating a vibrant food scene in the neighbourhood and luckily, you don't have to be a resident in order to enjoy them.
