Alo Restaurant, known for its contemporary French cuisine, is making fine dining possible again with their new patio pop-up!
Amidst the current pandemic, like many others, Alo Restaurant has been forced to change its operations and adjust to the new normal. After pivoting to a takeout-only business model following the COVID-19 related closures, the restaurant successfully doled out an impressive tasting menu through the fine-dining oriented takeout app, Tock.
As the city entered Stage 2 and restaurants were finally allowed to offer outdoor dining, Alo, once again, has made a drastic move to adapt. With more demand for restaurants offering patio dining, Alo will be opening up a pop-up with a huge outdoor patio.
While the restaurant group has not yet announced the news, owner and chef Patrick Kriss has teased Alo devotees with glimpses of the patio pop-up on his Instagram page.
The pop-up can be found at the corner of Wellington Street and Draper Street. Passersby will see nothing but a large white tent pitched just outside an unmarked brick-and-mortar.
Although no official information has been released, a correspondent of the restaurant group has said that Alo's new semi-permanent space is in the works and is set to open in the coming weeks.
