One of Toronto's most beloved spots for Caribbean food is opening up shop just outside of Toronto.
Allwyn's Bakery is a longstanding restaurant that has expanded to different parts of Toronto in recent years. Their latest location takes them to the suburbs of Vaughan, just north of Toronto. The new location sits just steps away from Toronto's jurisdictions, perched on the north side of Steeles Avenue.
Known for their signature boneless jerk chicken and budget-friendly deals, Allwyn's has become a staple for Toronto eaters since the 90s. Their first outpost, located just south of York Mills Road in North York, has been operating for almost 25 years. They have come a long way from their strip plaza roots, and have since expanded to locations at Yonge and Sheppard, Etobicoke and most recently Queen Street West––their first downtown location.
Allwyn's Bakery is still run by original owner C.K. Chung and his family, who started the business with Jamaican chef Donald Simpson.
The Vaughan location will boast the same juicy jerk chicken and fresh beef patties Toronto has come to adore. The patties, which come solo or in packs of up to 12, are made by the famous Fahmee Bakery, who also supply patties to notable subway stations in Toronto.
Allwyn's Bakery will be having their grand opening of the Vaughan store on May 7. They will be available on Uber Eats and for walk-ins.
The new location is located at 3222 Steeles Avenue West.
