Lagos-born Victor Ugeweke is hosting his African eats pop-up, Afrobeat Kitchen, inside Caravan Cafe & Tea House today, November 11.

Ugeweke has been popping up around the city for quite some time now, from cooking at The Depanneur to running his Faaji Food pop-up under the Bentway to private meals and catering.

His intention with his latest project, Afrobeat Kitchen, has been to reimagine modern African cuisine through mashing up authentic recipes, diaspora dishes and global influences.

At Caravan Cafe & Tea House, Ugeweke will be serving his best dishes. You'll find traditional dishes like hearty lentil soup and peanut stew with jackfruit and chickpeas, as well as spicy lamb burgers and West African melon seed chili stew with grilled shrimp on the menu.

Afrobeat Kitchen can be located at 1165 Bloor St W every Wednesday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., or you can order through Ritual.
