Access local food from Evergreen Brick Works' Farm in a Box

As grocery stores face an overwhelming amount of demand for delivery services, other food outlets in Toronto have started to offer alternatives. From restaurants, bars, farmer's markets and wholesale suppliers, we have witnessed an influx of new services throughout our community.

As the temperature slowly creeps up, so too does the desire to meander through a weekend farmer's market. With physical distancing measures however, the opportunity to peruse through the stalls of local vendors and farmers seems to be something of the past. In spite of this, farmer's markets throughout the city have turned virtual in order to offer their customers a selection of produce, dairy, breads and meat.

A favourite among Torontonians, Evergreen Brick Works offers affordable food delivery -- Farm in a Box. Former market-goers can now order a selection of curated produce and meat boxes, as well as homemade bread. The offerings change depending on seasonality and what is available that week.

The food delivery service works by supporting Toronto’s most nutritionally vulnerable -- through a variety of programs and initiatives -- with the purchase of a produce box positively impacting the community.

Orders that are received before Friday at 4 p.m. are sent out for delivery the following week. Orders must meet a minimum of $15 and if you choose, you may sign up for a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly subscription.
