A trained crêpier is bringing Breton specialties to Toronto

A trained crêpe maker from France has just launched a home-based business specializing in authentic Breton products.

Un Coin de Bretagne, which translates to 'a part of Brittany' in French, is the brainchild of crêpier and Brittany-native Remi, along with his two friends Circé and Florent.

After moving to Toronto near the end of 2019, Remi wanted to open up his own crêpe shop in the city and had been dreaming about it ever since. Now, he’s made his dreams a reality with the help of Circé and Florent, who are responsible for managing the marketing, social media and customer service aspects of the company.

Remi is in charge of making the Breton specialties on the menu, which include sweet and savoury buckwheat crêpes––known as galettes––as well as gâteau Breton (Breton cake), Far Breton (cake with prunes) and salted butter caramel.

Most of these products are not commonly found in the city, which is why their ultimate goal is to give us a taste of what the Brittany region in the west of France has to offer.

The full menu can be found on their Instagram page, which also features a link to their order form. They’re currently available for pickup in front of the Art Gallery of Ontario or for delivery.
