Following the successful opening of Coffee Oysters Champagne and speakeasy À Toi in 2018, Forthspace Hospitality is bringing another insanely gorgeous restaurant to Toronto -- but this time with a 1950's Latin American flair.
The new restaurant, Marked, is inspired by South American cuisine, focusing on sustainably sourced ingredients cooked over a wood charcoal grill. Their "grilled earth approach," as they describe it, is meant to emphasize South American flavours that are only brought out by the use of natural heat.
Though a full menu has yet to be released, the restaurant's press release promises locally procured meats and seafood, seasonal produce, handcrafted cocktails and a refined wine list.
Located at Richmond Street and John Street, the 10,000 square foot restaurant is designed by Navigate Design -- the same firm behind the chic sister restaurants of Marked.
Boasting four distinct dining spaces, each with a unique theme, the space offers a 1950's Pan American-inspired front bar lounge and patio. For a more elevated yet casual dining experience, the Comedor draws influence from South American travel, with a nifty fifties feel. The Tucano is a private dining space that can host larger and more intimate gatherings, and if the 1950s theme isn't your style, the Corsair is the restaurant's modern cocktail bar.
Marked Restaurant is set to open its doors on September 1, with reservations available through their website. Marked is located at 132 John Street will be operating Sunday to Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., and Thursday to Saturday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.
