As Ontario moves into its second step of their "Roadmap to Reopen" plan, the July 1 holiday lines up just as the province extends the limit on outdoor dining patrons across Ontario. With the holiday landing smack in the middle of the week, you may be feeling weary of enjoying a day off at a restaurant or bar, but what better time is there really?
After the province announced last week that Ontario will enter step two of its reopening plan on June 30, restaurants and bars with patios quickly began preparing for a larger influx of guests and larger parties––the person per table limit increased from four to six people as a part of step two.
While many businesses typically choose to take the day off and close down for the holiday, a slew of restaurants have chosen to remain open, hoping to garner more business after the standstill year in the industry.
This list will be updated on a rolling basis, as long as people are sharing their favourite restaurants that are open on July 1 in the comments below. This is by no means an exhaustive list, so if you see a spot that's missing, let us know in the comments.
List will be updated until 3 p.m. on July 1.
