There is a new smash burger spot in the city and though it might feel like they're popping up everywhere, this one is located for all those folk north of the city. Burger JABS (Just Another Burger Spot) is the newest pop-up that's taken Vaughan by storm. The name stems from an acronym that plays with the smash burger craze's fatigue, but they really make it their own here.
Owner Janrikk Millan isn’t trying to revolutionize any new burger concept, but he is trying to make it his own. “We experimented with many sauces, buns, produce and meats before coming out with our product. We rallied our friends and families to critique our burgers so we can make it just right,” says Millan. They try doing everything in-house, from grinding their own meat and making their house-made sauce to pickling their own onions.
The menu is simple right now, with three types of burgers, taro chips and fries. You can get a single or double patty, and all come with cheese and jabs sauce.
They are currently operating as a pop-up, taking orders directly through their Instagram page on specific dates. They’re hoping to be part of socially distanced food festivals over the summer and the dream will be to open a brick-and-mortar. Be sure to follow their social media for future pop-up dates.
