A new spin on takeout just opened in Toronto this week.
CoMMO (Community of Meals and Menus Online) Kitchen and Marketplace offers a one-stop shopping experience at Betty’s on King Street.
The idea comes from Michael Sullivan (of Victor Restaurant and Stackt Market fame), who wanted to bring restaurant-quality experiences to customers without planning, prep work, clean up or high prices.
They’ll offer chef-made frozen meals, hot takeout and a mix of local craft beer and restaurant-exclusive wines. Made fresh in-house daily, they’re starting with a revamped menu from Betty’s, including their famous chicken wings, pub pot pies and vegan chana masala. They are looking to include more local independent restaurants to provide an even wider array of offerings.
The frozen food offerings are updated weekly and they will also have seasonal food and drink specials throughout the year. The bottle shop program at CoMMO offers a beer fridge featuring several local breweries, as well as domestics and imports. They also have a wide selection of more than 80 unique wines, typically not available at the LCBO.
CoMMO Kitchen and Marketplace is open now for in-person and online orders and pickup every day from 12 to 8 p.m. They don’t have delivery just yet, but it’s well on its way.
