There’s a new Toronto pop-up that is offering three-course prix fixe menus to bring home and enjoy. “Cheffing” is a pop-up project from chef Miriam Echeverria that brings a mix of creative rotating takeout meals that change weekly.
After leaving her post as the head chef at Greta Solomon’s, Echeverria wanted to pursue a project that she had been thinking about for some time. “This pandemic project of mine allows me to continue being a part of the industry while having more freedom on my own,” says Echeverria.
Wanting to cook some of the food she loved growing up, she’s curating a small three-course menu using what she learned working at Canadian restaurants throughout her life. Her first menu consisted of the flavours of Mexico, which included a Mexican appetizer trio, sea bass entree, and tres leches cake for dessert.
She launched her first menu on March 13 and sold out within days. Echeverria is only making small quantities for now and hopes to collaborate with other chefs to further expand on the idea. If you’d like to order, be sure to order directly through her website.
