Apple Crumble for Two
20 mins Prep Time
25 mins Cook Time
Everyone loves an apple crumble. Warm cooked apple, spiced with cinnamon and sweetened with brown sugar topped with a crunchy sweet and savoury oat topping. It is the perfect dessert for any occasion and this recipe is the perfect portion for two hungry individuals. You can enjoy this dessert on its own or with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream! If you are looking for a quick and easy dessert, save this for later and try it out! I have made the recipe with pears and it turns out just as well, so feel free to experiment with this recipe.
Directions
Filling
2 Steps
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spread butter or oil in two 10-ounce ramekins and set aside, you may also cook this in one larger sized ramekin.
Step 2
In a medium mixing bowl add chopped apples, flour, cinnamon and sugar until all of the apple pieces are coated well. Scoop into each ramekin and set aside.
Topping
2 Steps
Step 1
In a medium mixing bowl add the flour, oats, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt and mix until well combined. Add in the cubed butter and work the mixture together with your hands or a fork until it starts to clump together. Evenly distribute the topping between both ramekins on top of the apple filling. Sprinkle 2 extra teaspoons of brown sugar on top.
Step 2
Bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes or until the apples are cooked through and the topping is lightly golden brown. Allow to cool for about 5-10 minutes. Serve with ice cream or enjoy on its own!
