Cinnaholic, the fastest growing plant-based cinnamon bun chain in North America, is set to open a new location in High Park this week on Dec. 17.
The new Cinnaholic will be located at 2190 Bloor Street West, joining the Lansdowne and Danforth locations to bring the city its much-needed vegan cinnamon buns. This North American based company now has 60 locations scattered around the US and Canada, with no signs of slowing down.
For their opening day, Cinnaholic High Park is offering $1 rolls from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They've also partnered with the Toronto Human Society for their opening weekend, and will match any donations made. A new bun, unique to the High Park location, will be put on permanent rotation; part of the proceeds of this new bun will be going to the Toronto Human Society in perpetuity, an awesome idea for the animal-friendly High Park neighbourhood.
Their gourmet cinnamon buns, 100 per cent plant-based and 100 per cent delicious, are completely customizable with your favourite frosting and toppings, although some of their standard buns, like the spiced apple cobbler roll or the pumpkin spice roll, will probably catch your eye. They also have a drool worthy cinnacake (because why have one bun when you can have 20 baked together), from-scratch brownies, and edible cookie dough. All their in-house baked treats are also 100 per cent plant based, and you can pair it with a hot drink from their full service coffee bar.
Cinnaholic began as an independent, family-owned bakery in 2010 (you may have noticed their appearance on a Dragon's Den episode), but has since been franchising out to North America, including the new High Park location. The High Park Cinnahaolic owner, Allan, went to a networking event at the Danforth Cinnaholic a few years ago, ate the cookie monster roll, and was blown away by the (shockingly vegan) flavours. They've bought a second franchise location, so look out for Toronto's fourth Cinnaholic in the city one day soon.
You can find the new location at 2190 Bloor Street West, where they'll be dishing out $1 rolls on opening day this Friday.
