Directions
Monkey Bread with Bacon
10 Steps
Step 1
In a small bowl, combine the warm milk, warm water, brown sugar, melted butter and instant yeast. Whisk together until everything is well combined. Cover and let sit for about 10 minutes.
Step 2
In a bowl of a stand mixer combine the flour and salt. Add the wet mixture to the flour mixture and with a dough hook, knead until a smooth dough forms (for about 10 minutes).
Step 3
Transfer the dough into a lightly floured bowl. Cover with a kitchen towel and let sit in a warm place for about one hour or until doubled in size.
Step 4
While the dough is resting, make the brown sugar coating. In a medium bowl, combine the dark brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Whisk until well combined. In another bowl add the melted butter and set aside.
Step 5
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a bundt pan with cooking spray or butter.
Step 6
Turn out the proofed dough onto a lightly floured surface. Cut the dough into small pieces and roll them into balls. Dip each ball into the melted butter, then roll it in the brown sugar coating.
Step 7
Sprinkle 1/3 of the bacon into the greased bundt pan. Place the coated balls into the pan in a layer. Top with more bacon and another layer of dough. Once all of the dough balls are in the pan, sprinkle with the rest of the bacon over top.
Step 8
Bake the monkey bread for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the bread is cooked through.
Step 9
Remove the monkey bread from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes in the pan.
Step 10
Invert the pan onto a serving platter to release the monkey bread. Serve warm and enjoy!
