Halloween is just around the corner and what better way to get into the spirit by baking some delicious cheesecake brownies! Of course, to make them extra spooky, the brownies are made with black cocoa, which can be purchased at stores like Bulk Barn. The creamy cheesecake layer is dyed orange to give these brownies their pop of colour. These Halloween cheesecake brownies are truly simple and delicious and definitely a crowd pleaser!

Brownie Layer

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 ̊F. Grease an 8" x 8" baking dish and line with parchment paper.
Step 2
In a medium bowl, add the eggs, oil and vanilla. Mix with a fork until well combined.
Step 3
Add the sugar, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder to the bowl.
Step 4
Add flour and mix until just combined.
Step 5
Save 1/4 cup of the batter for the swirls, then pour the remaining batter into the prepared baking dish.
Cheesecake Layer

Step 1
In a medium bowl, add the cream cheese, sugar, egg and vanilla. Blend until smooth.
Step 2
Add in the orange food colouring and stir to combine. You can also mix red and yellow food colouring to get your desired orange colour.
Step 3
Spread the cream cheese layer on top of the brownie batter.
Step 4
Drop spoonfuls of the remaining brownie batter on top and gently swirl with a knife or fork.
Step 5
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until set. Remove and let cool completely before slicing.
