Directions
Figs & Caramelized Onion Flatbread
8 Steps
Step 1
In a large skillet over medium heat melt the butter. Add the onions to the skillet and season with salt.
Step 2
Reduce heat to medium-low and continue to cook onions. Stirring every few minutes to prevent them from sticking and colouring too much in any one place. Keep cooking for about 30 to 40 minutes or until onions are soft and golden brown. Take off the heat and set aside.
Step 3
Preheat the oven 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 4
Place the flatbreads on top of the prepared baking sheet and brush the top with olive oil.
Step 5
Bake in the oven for about 5 to 6 minutes.
Step 6
Take the flatbreads out. Spread the goat cheese evenly on top. Place the sliced figs on top of the goat cheese and bake in the oven for another 10 minutes.
Step 7
Arrange the prosciutto, caramelized onions and arugula on top.
Step 8
Drizzle with balsamic glaze and enjoy!
