They offer all the flavours and textures you love from a classic Lox bagel but with the added convenience of being easier and faster to make. The buttery biscuits, combined with cream cheese, smoky salmon, and fresh toppings, create an absolutely satisfying morning treat. Cheddar and Everything Bagel Biscuit Breakfast Sandwich

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, sugar and everything bagel seasoning.
Step 3
Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Step 4
Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
Step 5
Make a well in the centre of the mixture and pour in the buttermilk. Stir everything together until just combined. Do not overmix.
Step 6
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Gently knead it a few times until it comes together.
Step 7
Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
Step 8
Fold one side into the centre, then the other side on top.
Step 9
Roll out the dough again into a rectangle about 3/4 inch thick.
Step 10
Use a sharp knife or a biscuit cutter to cut the dough into 8 rectangular-shaped biscuits.
Step 11
Transfer the biscuits to the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between them.
Step 12
Transfer the baking sheet to the fridge for 30 minutes.
Step 13
After chilling, brush top of the biscuits with extra buttermilk and sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning.
Step 14
Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
Step 15
Allow the biscuits to cool slightly on a wire rack.
Step 16
To serve, slice each biscuit in half horizontally. Spread a layer of cream cheese on the bottom and top half of each biscuit.
Step 17
Top with smoked salmon, capers and fresh dill.
Step 18
Place the top half of the biscuit on the toppings, cut the sandwich in half and enjoy!
