But I’m here to tell you that you can achieve tender, flavourful, fall-off-the-bone baby back ribs right on your grill without any fuss. The key is to cook them low and slow in the oven, letting the ribs become tender and juicy before throwing them on a hot grill and basting them with the best homemade bourbon spiked BBQ sauce. With Labour Day weekend approaching, it's the perfect time to fire up the grill. Bourbon BBQ Ribs

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
Step 2
Remove the membrane from the back of the rack of ribs.
Step 3
Brush the ribs with mustard, ensuring an even coating.
Step 4
In a small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon each of onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, and salt.
Step 5
Generously apply this dry rub to both sides of the ribs.
Step 6
Cover the ribs well with foil and place them in the preheated oven for 2 hours.
Step 7
For the BBQ sauce, combine Bourbon, tomato paste, apple cider vinegar, honey, brown sugar, and the remaining onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, and salt in a small saucepan.
Step 8
Bring the sauce to a boil – adjust seasoning to taste. Let cool and set aside.
Step 9
After 2 hours, remove the ribs from the oven and let them cool slightly.
Step 10
Remove the ribs from the foil and carefully place them on a hot grill.
Step 11
Baste the ribs with the BBQ sauce every 10 minutes or so, grilling for 20-25 minutes until nice and charred.
