Looking for the best farmers' markets to visit this summer? We've got you covered with a list of markets open or set to reopen within the coming weeks!
While the city gradually begins to reopen following the COVID-19 lockdown, some positive news was announced earlier in June: farmers' markets in Toronto are now permitted to begin opening, just in time for the beautiful summer weather and more cooking at home! There are so many wonderful markets across the city that carry a bounty of items including seasonal produce from local farms, prepared foods, flowers, artisan goodies and more, and some have even been open for pre-order and pickup for the past few weeks.
Farmers' markets are an integral part of the connection between communities and agriculture and a way to encourage healthy, locally-focused eating, so we know Torontonians will be thrilled to see them back in action. Proper safety measures will of course need to be taken, including face coverings (strongly recommended), sanitizing stations and capacity limits, to ensure the experience is safe for everyone involved. Check out our list below of the best farmers' markets in the city, and get ready to enjoy all of the summer produce!
